Updated: 2 days ago

by Chynna Jasmine Pearson

It’s official, autumn is here, and the heat of the summer is passing. For the coming season, here are a few strains that will go perfectly with fall activities. No matter if you’re heading to the pumpkin patch, grabbing hot chocolate, or apple picking, there is a strain to match whatever vibes you’re feeling on this list. So, let’s get into it...

Monkey Bread # 1

Time to get baked and make a snack to match the name. (If you’ve never had monkey bread, you have to try it! Buy it or make it, it will be delicious.) Monkey Bread #1 is an Indica dominant strain bred by crossing Grease Monkey and Girl Scout Cookies. We can all thank Certified Portland for coming up with it! Monkey Bread #1 has an earth scent to it with notes of cocoa, vanilla, and spice. If you’re looking to get the munchies, this is the strain for you, it will lock you in the couch with a bag of chips and two chocolate bars. For medical patients, this strain is perfect to help with pain, lack of appetite, and stress. Can’t be stressed when you’re sleepy and full of snacks! Take caution, however, this strain is known for high THC content.

Pumpkin Spice

It’s THE season for Pumpkin Spice, and the strain to accompany it is just as yummy! The Pumpkin Spice strain is a balanced hybrid made from Sour Apples and Animal Cookies. It is high in THC content but even inexperienced cannabis users will like it. Special thanks to Sensi Seeds for making the perfect strain to pair with a fall themed latte. Pumpkin Spice is known to leave users creative, uplifted, and happy. Try to use it early in the day to make you feel pumped for the day ahead. Its scent is earthy but very apple-forward with notes of flowers. If you’re a medical patient, use this strain to combat stress, anxiety, and depression.

Sugar Pine

This strain is sugar and pines and everything nice about cannabis. Sugar Pine is a Sativa dominant hybrid strain. Just like its name, its scent is pine with notes of lemon and sweet sugars. Fun Fact: Sugar Pine was developed by Flying Dutchman Gardens and it took over 20 years to create; crossing specific cannabis genetic traits to create a Sativa hybrid that is both uplifting and soothing. This extensive hybrid has genes from strains like Skunk, Sugar Bush, Afghani, and Sweetie. If you try this strain, expect to feel light and easy while being uplifted and happy. With how much work went into the strain, I’ll be looking for it for sure! Medical patients can use this strain to help with depression and inflammation.

Cherry Biscotti

If you’re someone who’s all about coffee, this strain pairs perfectly with it, just like a real Cherry Biscotti. This strain is an Indica dominant hybrid created by mixing Sour Kush and Cherry AK. If you’re big into Indica’s this is a classic one. Users will feel happy, blissful, and sunken into the couch for hours on end. Cherry Biscotti is known for its aroma, it has sweet cherry and nutty tones mixed with a flowery kush scent. Unfortunately for any newbies, this strain is very high in THC content and can be powerful. Use it in small doses first, before you fall asleep with the lights on and Cheetos on your chest. For medical patients, this strain can help with stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and PTSD.

Hazelnut Cream

Again, if you like coffee, this is perfect for a wake and bake with a warm cup of joe. Hazelnut Cream is a rare Sativa dominant strain that was created by crossing Miami Haze and Cookies and Cream by Exotic Genetix. If you were to use a lot in one sitting, you’ll likely deal with some couch lock, but in smaller doses, you’ll feel uplifted, happy, and overall boosted. Hazelnut Cream has a rich aroma with a very earthy and creamy base with notes of sweetness. The THC content is pretty average but that doesn’t make it an average strain. If you’re a medical patient, use this strain to combat insomnia, depression, appetite loss, and pain. Some users have even said this strain helps with their bipolar disorder.

Vanilla Kush

For this strain, I’d recommend it for anytime you’re around a fire, making s’mores or just chilling. Vanilla Kush is a strong Indica strain and is the 2nd place winner for the 2009 High Times Cannabis Cup. The company that created it is called Barney’s Farm, a coffee shop and seed company. Vanilla Kush was created by crossing Afgan and Kashmir, both iconic in their own right. This strain has a lovely scent with notes of vanilla, lavender, and citrus. For people who use this strain they can expect to feel sleepy, relaxed, and maybe tingly! For medical patients, this strain is perfect to help with stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

Marshmallow OG

This strain is also perfect for being around the fire and cooking up s’mores.... Because duh. Marshmallow OG is a solid hybrid strain created from crossing Chemdog, Triangle OG, and Jet Fuel Gelato by Compound Genetics. This three parent strain is full of THC and popular among experienced users. If you choose this strain, expect to feel relaxed, hungry, and happy. Marshmallow OG’s scent is based in butter with notes of vanilla and spicy pepper. For medical patients, this is the best strain to help relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and depression.

Chocolate Hashberry

If you like smooth, creamy chocolate, this is the strain for you. In fact, this would mix well with the Marshmallow OG! Chocolate Hashberry is a balanced hybrid strain created by mixing Chocolate Kush and Blackberry Kush. If you choose to try this strain, you can expect to feel sedated, relaxed, focused, and happy. This strain is well balanced so if overindulged, you may be relaxed enough to sleep. Chocolate Hashberry’s scent has a strong base of chocolate with notes of hashy spice, coffee, and sweet berries. For medical patients, this strain is good for helping with anxiety, stress, pain, and depression.
